Reverse Engineering

With reverse engineering, we can help you recreate an existing part even without a drawing. Applied’s engineers and designers have experience recreating existing components and assemblies when no drawings or other technical documentation exists. We utilize a variety of techniques to capture size and dimensions from physical objects, those techniques can include laser scanning, manual measuring equipment, calipers, micrometer, etc.

After the physical parameters are documented the designs are recreated in CAD (Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, Creo, etc) and corresponding drawings are created if necessary.

Reverse Engineering is very useful when you need to produce models or drawings for a part, or you are trying to retrofit a part on an existing product. Once your design has been captured, Applied’s skilled mechanical designers can help you make updates or design improvements if necessary.
