Automation Engineer

Applied Engineering Technology, Inc. is accepting applications for an experienced Automation Engineer in the Minneapolis/Brooklyn Park, MN area.  The Automation Engineer role is responsible for designing automation and control systems for various industries, support integration of vision systems with automated processes, create software solutions, and conduct mathematical modeling, interacting with manufacturing, presenting or demonstrating designs to customers, and working with suppliers or other Applied partners.

Automation Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related degree program required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of automation and vision systems experience
  • PLC, Application and/or vision system programming experience
  • Robotic programming background
  • Background with mathematical modelling techniques
  • CAD/CAM software experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
  • Desire to work on a variety of projects
